It's Frontal Lobe Friday!
Today, a rundown of The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery. Since we're halfway through the month, I wanted to make sure all the new listeners (and the old ones!) are up to speed on our foundational principles for changing our minds and changing our lives through the power of self-brain surgery.
The Ten Commandments of Self-Brain Surgery
—I must relentlessly refuse to participate in my own demise.
—I must believe that feelings are not facts, they are chemical events in my brain.
—I must believe that most of my automatic thoughts are untrue.
—I must believe that I am NOT just my brain.
—I must love tomorrow more than I hate how I feel right now.
—I must stop making an operation out of everything.
—I must not perpetuate generational thought or behavioral issues in my family, or start any new ones.
—I must love my brain and believe that it is designed to change
—I must believe that I’m getting better at what I’m doing.
—I must understand that thoughts become things.
